Design & Inspiration

1. Hi, tell us about yourself. I was born in China. I got my Bachelor of Architecture degree in Beijing. I came to Australia in 1996 to do a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Queensland. Instead, I ended up with a Master of Business Administration in 2004 from UQ. I was working for an architectural firm specializing in aquariums projects in Brisbane. I have also worked at Lab Architecture Studio, Denton Corker Marshall, and DP Toscano architects on different types of projects in Melbourne. So, I am a registered architect in Victoria with many years of architectural experience.

1. Starting with a Vision

Every great story begins with a dream. Whether it’s a cozy family home or a cutting-edge office, we start by understanding the people who will inhabit the space. What do they value? How do they live? These questions shape our designs.

2. Building Around Experiences

We design for more than aesthetics—we design for experiences. Think sunlit mornings in a reading corner, laughter echoing in a family dining room, or the focused energy of a well-planned office. It’s about creating moments that matter.

3. Letting the Location Lead

The land has a story to tell, too! We take cues from the natural surroundings, climate, and local culture to ensure our designs complement the environment rather than clash with it. A coastal villa might feature open, airy layouts, while an urban apartment could maximize vertical space.

4. Designing Spaces with Emotion

Architecture is deeply personal. That’s why we design spaces that evoke joy, comfort, or even awe. From warm textures that feel like a hug to dramatic shapes that spark excitement, we’re all about creating emotional connections.

5. The Power of Details

Sometimes, the smallest touches make the biggest impact. A textured wall here, a statement staircase there—details bring personality and uniqueness to our designs. It’s like adding the perfect accessory to an outfit.

6. Sustainability with a Heart

We believe in leaving the planet better than we found it. Sustainable materials, energy-efficient systems, and thoughtful green spaces aren’t just trendy—they’re essential. They tell a story of responsibility and care for future generations.

7. Collaborating with You

You’re the author of your story; we’re just here to bring it to life. We love working closely with clients to capture their dreams, preferences, and quirks. Together, we create spaces that are uniquely you.

What’s the Next Chapter?
Every project is an opportunity to tell a new story. Let’s dream up something extraordinary together—because the best spaces aren’t just built, they’re imagined.

P.S. Your next chapter starts with one question: What story do you want your space to tell? Let’s bring it to life!
